There is a new meeting, Monday nights at 7PM, in Lexington. It is at Heartland Church, 2505 Lexington-Springmill Road, and the format is “Lead – no comment.”
At the request of many archives in NE Ohio, our area sought and was rewarded the bid to return the Nat’l AA Archives Workshop to our area in 2015. The dates are September 24th-27th, 2015 and the chosen hotel is the Independence, OH DoubleTree which is near Cleveland and on the route to Akron.
We asked the area and got unanimous approval to extend an invitation to all intergroups in NE Ohio to be full partners in this venture. All we ask is that you send a representative to our planning meetings. The next one is May 25th 1:00 pm at the Cleveland District Office, 1701 E 12th Street (Reserve Square Building basement) enter building from the E 12th Street entrance.
The risks are minimal. We have no room booking minimum and only a modest banquet minimum which should be easily exceeded. The surplus from the 3rd workshop helped our area to establish an archival repository of its own. While we cannot promise a major surplus again, we will share and share alike.
The first two workshops were run by the Akron Intergroup and the third also by them but in partnership with the NE Ohio Area (Area 54). It has since spent 15 years in other cities and we archivists felt it was time for it to come home again. It will.
Please give serious consideration to joining us as partners and/or sending your archivist(s) to this event and to our planning meetings.
Chairman, 2015 NAAAW
Cleveland District Office Archivist
